Pomodoro Timer: Focus Bar

Stop losing the hour you meant to work.

Focus Bar keeps a countdown floating above whatever you are doing, so a focused block is something you can see rather than something you hope you are having.

How it works

1

Pick a length

Set your focus, short break and long break in minutes, and how many blocks run before the long one.

2

Start and forget it

The bar floats above every window and follows you across Spaces. Control it from the menu bar without switching apps.

3

Watch it add up

Finished focus time is logged on your Mac. Streaks, a daily goal, charts and a 12 week heatmap show the work accumulating.

Questions

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

You work in a fixed block, classically 25 minutes, then take a short break. After four blocks you take a longer one. The fixed length is the point: it turns an open ended task into something with an edge you can see. Learn More

How do I focus better when I keep getting distracted?

Shorten the block until it is easier to start than to avoid. Most people fail at 25 minutes and succeed at 15. Distraction is usually a symptom of a block that is too long, not of weak willpower. Learn More

Is there a good Pomodoro timer for Mac?

The one you keep is the one you can see without switching windows. Focus Bar puts the countdown in a floating bar that follows you across Spaces and full screen apps, plus the menu bar. Learn More

How long should a Pomodoro break be?

Five minutes after each block and fifteen after every fourth is the classic ratio, and it holds up well. Both are adjustable, because a 45 minute block needs more recovery than a 25 minute one. Learn More

Does it track my data or need an account?

No account, no sign up, no cloud sync, and no analytics. Sessions are stored locally on your Mac with SwiftData. The only network use is Apple's App Store, for the purchase.

Is it a subscription?

No. It is a single purchase that unlocks the app permanently, on every Mac signed in to your Apple Account. Nothing renews.

Your focus, on your Mac, and nowhere else

No account, no sign up, no cloud sync, no analytics, no tracking. Every session you log stays on your Mac.
